Hundreds of people whose lives have been affected by FTD will attend the 2019 AFTD utbildningskonferens in Los Angeles for a day of learning, sharing and connecting with others in the AFTD community.

Ledande experter från UCLA, USCF, University of Washington och på andra håll kommer att presentera de senaste framstegen när det gäller att förstå FTD samt nya perspektiv på forskning, vård och stöd. Eftermiddagens breakout-sessioner kommer att fokusera på kliniska frågor och vårdstrategier, och kommer också att ge möjlighet att nätverka med andra som förstår FTD-resan.

Andra breakout-sessioner kommer att fokusera på beteendevariant FTD, primär progressiv afasi och FTD/ALS.

Emmy Award-nominerade skådespelaren Martha Madison – mest känd för sin roll som Belle Black på Dagar av våra liv – kommer att erbjuda årets Keynote Address. Madison har varit en FTD-vårdpartner till sin mamma, Barbara Baggs, i mer än 15 år. Hon är en aktiv AFTD-volontär och presenterades i ett AFTD public service-meddelande 2017, där hon levererade medvetandemeddelandet "Tänk att det är Alzheimers? Tänk om."

The conference will run from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott. A social reception open to all attendees will immediately follow.

AFTD offers modest financial assistance, in the form of Comstock Travel Grants, for people with FTD and care partners wishing to attend.
