Over 400 attendees joined us at the eighth annual Hope Rising Benefit, held on April 4, 2024, at New York City’s Ziegfeld Ballroom. More than $1.9 million was raised to drive AFTD’s work to help those affected and advance research to a cure.

Bruce Miller, MD, director of the Memory and Aging Center at the University of California, San Francisco, received the Susan Newhouse & Si Newhouse Award of Hope for a career spent supporting all affected by FTD. Sisters Sandra and Diana Gonzalez-Morett delivered the keynote address, speaking about their late mother’s diagnosis, its effect on their family, and the currently unmet need for quality, affordable dementia care. Lea Michele provided the evening’s entertainment, performing three songs, including “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from her critically acclaimed Broadway run as Fanny Brice in Rolig tjej.

2023 Driving Hope Colorado

AFTD’s Driving Hope Golf Tournaments raise vital awareness and funds to support our work. In 2023, we welcomed 114 golfers to Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colorado, and Metropolis Golf Club in White Plains, New York, and raised over $162,000 to drive AFTD’s mission.

Young Professionals in NYC

In June 2024, AFTD hosted a networking event for young professionals. Attendees joined staff and volunteers at Hudson Yards in Manhattan to meet others affected by FTD and learn more about our mission. Special thanks to Joe Esposito for providing the space for this event.
