Two recent developments will bring additional federal focus on FTD research. FTD has been added to a short list of diseases to receive research funding through the Department of Defense under the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. Thank you to supporters on the Hill, led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, for this important inclusion. Additionally, AFTD successfully advocated for Congress to strongly encourage the National Institutes of Health to formally support the continuation and expansion of an FTD clinical research network.
