July’s athlete of the month is Jessica T. from Pennsylvania. Jessica first encountered FTD while working in a dementia unit in a long-term care facility. While working with a resident diagnosed with the disease, Jessica felt compelled to take action, because “he was only in his mid-fifties, and it was heartbreaking seeing how far his dementia had progressed.”

This prompted Jessica to get involved in our Charity Miles initiative, supporting AFTD’s mission while walking and hiking with her two dogs in her local community. She explains, “I love using Charity Miles because it is a really easy way to support a great organization.” Thanks to Jessica and many others, the AFTD-Team reached our July mileage and fundraising goal in just 10 days!
