Kristen, owner of Peg & Jane Yarn Co., is hosting a “Colorway for a Cause” fundraiser where 10% of sales from February through April will go to AFTD. This is in honor of her long-time friend, Larry Largent, who was diagnosed with FTD in 2018.

The two met in the archaeology department of their small, private college in Illinois in 2007 — Kristen, an undergraduate student, admired Larry, a graduate student, for his maturity, both professionally and personally. Larry now lives in Minnesota (where Kristen is originally from) with his wife, Erica, and their three daughters (one of whom Kristen babysat in college).

Having recently lost her grandmother to dementia (Jane of “Peg & Jane”), Kristen decided to start “Colorway for a Cause” with the first beneficiary being in honor of Larry. The colorway she created for Larry is based off of Hatteras Island, off the coast of North Carolina, where the Largent family spent time making memories before and after Larry was diagnosed.
