In December 2018, AFTD’s Board of Directors voted to adopt a new Strategic Plan for our work through June 30, 2022. The plan – now publicly available – presents our vision to advance a world with compassionate care, effective support, and a future free of FTD.

Geschreven met inbreng van een reeks experts - waaronder velen met levende ervaring met de ziekte - zal het plan het werk van AFTD versterken als de leidende autoriteit gericht op FTD, en zal het ons begeleiden bij het ondersteunen van de organisatie op de schaal die nodig is om onze missie te vervullen.

It focuses on advancing early and accurate diagnosis of FTD, developing new treatment options, educating health professionals, and bringing AFTD’s national impact into local communities. AFTD will create new resources to inform and empower our constituents; expand our education, awareness and advocacy efforts; and work to help people access vital FTD care and support in their own local communities.

“AFTD strives to be a voice for all people affected by this disease. At the same time, we know that there are communities we haven’t reached,” said AFTD CEO Susan L-J Dickinson, M.S., CGC. “Our new Strategic Plan endeavors to find those who’ve slipped through the gap and aid them in receiving the attention and care they need.”

Als hoogtepunten van dit werk zal AFTD:

• Vergroot de reikwijdte en impact van het vrijwilligersprogramma.
• Bevorder vroege en nauwkeurige diagnoses en de ontwikkeling van succesvolle behandelingen.
• Stel onze gemeenschap in staat om te pleiten voor hoogwaardige dementiezorg en beroepsopleiding in de gezondheidszorg.

Dit ambitieuze plan vereist dat AFTD zijn personeelsbestand tegen juni 2022 op een duurzame manier met ongeveer 50 procent uitbreidt. Om de impact te bereiken die deze gemeenschap verdient, is de steun nodig van duizenden vrijwilligers en donateurs.

“Ons Strategisch Plan zou niet tot stand zijn gekomen zonder de waardevolle inbreng van de mensen die we dienen. Nu moeten we samenwerken om onze gedeelde visie werkelijkheid te laten worden. Ik hoop dat wanneer je dit plan leest, je je een toekomst voorstelt waar we allemaal trots op kunnen zijn”, zei Dickinson.
