The first ever Scoot for Scooter 5k and 1-mile run and walk raised $40,000 on behalf of AFTD. More than 1,000 people turned out for the event, which was held in honor of Dave “Scooter” Scaggs, a retired soccer and basketball coach who has been diagnosed with FTD. The run and walk was held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland, where Dave Scaggs was athletic director.
