“Psychiatric Times” Provides Insight on Apathy’s Presentation in Dementia

Apathy

The Psychiatric Times assesses how apathy develops within persons with varying types of dementia in a recently published article.

In the July 14 artikel, Rajesh R. Tampi, MD, chair of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, notes that persons with dementia who exhibit apathy have been found to have more rapid cognitive decline and can be more impaired in their daily activities. Dr. Tampi also identifies the nonpharmacological and pharmacological treatments that are available to offset apathy within persons diagnosed.

Det Vinter 2018 udgave af AFTD'er Partnere i FTD Care contains more information on ways to manage apathy in persons living with FTD.
